Grenfell Preschool & Long Day Care Centre provides three quality Early Childhood programs. We have three playrooms.
Rainbow Room (0 - 3 year olds)
bright, colourful and exploring
The Rainbow Room caters for the learning and care of children aged 0 to 3 years. As children grow and mature they require challenging and stimulating experiences. From individual observations staff in this room plan developmentally appropriate activities to cater for all children. All children are combined in the Rainbow Room from 8.00am - 8.30am and from 4.30pm - 6.00pm.
Garden Room (3 - 4 year olds)
growing and blooming
The Garden Room caters for the learning and care of children aged 3 to 4 years. Staff in this room provide developmentally appropriate activities to accommodate individual needs and interests.
Children who are turning 3 by the end of March will be able to be enrolled in the Garden Room at the commencement of the year. Children who turn 3 after the end June may not be accepted into the Garden Room until the following year. A transition period is provided for children moving from the Rainbow Room to the Garden Room. The transition period is used to gauge a child’s readiness for the Garden Room.
Star Room (4 - 5 year olds)
rising stars, about to go out in the world
The Star Room caters for the learning and care of the children starting Kindergarten the following year, usually the 4 to 5 year old children. A traditional preschool programme operates in this room between the hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm and is run by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher. A major focus is placed upon school readiness and appropriate activities are planned to help develop these skills.
